(Cross Polka) Arnreit, Mühlviertel Upper Austria

Form

Two concentric circles, men inside facing partners; no hold

Steps

Two step polka (Zweischrittdreher), chassays

Dance

Bar 1 - 2: The boy turns once ccw with three steps beginning left, until he faces partner again and tips with right foot across left foot whereas his partner does the same vice versa.

Bar 3 - 4: Same in reverse

Bar 5 - 6: One chassay in ballroom direction and one back again, whereas the steps are used to reduce the distance between partners, ending in ballroom hold.

This is repeated until the music stops playing.

Note

Bar 7-8: For beginners it is recommended to do only one turn with 4 steps.
